Paul introduces key words and phrases in the introduction of his letter to the Romans, one of which is “Apostle.” Paul identifies himself as an Apostle of Christ Jesus. This apostleship gave him the authority to speak for Jesus and proclaim his Gospel. He viewed Jesus as his ultimate authority of his life, which we are also called to do as Christians living today.
